used a smoked turkey carcass for bait? I saved mine from Xmas in the freezer. Pulled it out and thawed it. Built a cubby to try and catch a cat. Might as well try. What the worst catch a grinner. That's what I've been catching anyway. Nope had a big red hit the bait. You can guess it the trap was frozen. My mess up. They're all working now. Lol.

An old trapper I know used chicken bones all the time for fox and coon. He's nearly 100 years old now and hasn't trapped for almost 20 years. He caught lots of fur back when there were tons of us out after the big money critters of the 70's and even more when the prices tanked. I would bet there were years when he made as much from his trap line as the full time job he worked.
