But a fool’s heart is at his left That verse has nothing to do with politics. The whole liberal=left and conservative=right thing has only been around for a few years in the scheme of things. People in that time viewed all things wise as being right, and all things foolish as being left, having to do with the fact that most people are right handed. A wise man would use his strong hand to perform tasks, but a fool would use his left hand; that's the idea. It's important to read the Bible in context and not apply select verses to fit our own political means. So you don't believe anything in the bible was prophetic, as these words of wisdom appear to be? Keith

You've got to remember the Bible was not written "to" us, but was written "for" us. Ecclesiates was written by Solomon, it was his musings on the meaning of life. It wasn't written about America's political system, that's just ridiculous. Don't be silly, folks. Matthew was written by well, Matthew, it's his account of the life of Jesus. The people of the time those books were written would have understood the meaning of "right" and left" in the context of what was written. Right was strong, good, correct, left was weak, evil, wrong. 90% of the world's population is right hand dominant. Your uncles brothers sisters cousin being left handed or ambidextrious is irrelevant. Left and right has spiritual meaning, but it's not related to America's political system.
It's like when people try to find meaning in Chapter and verse numbers, trying to find codes and dates and such. It's stupid, plain and simple. The chapter and verse numbers were not originally included, they were added later as a way to make referencing easier. Don't read in to things that aren't there, folks.

When a tool becomes a weapon is religion really the goal is what I always think about no matter what book of what religion they can all be interpreted to meet one's needs. I have always found it more acceptable to not discuss religion with others and many of my close friends I have no clue what religion they are it's none of my business anyways.
