Has anybody tried the new style Newhouses? Basically victors with a different pan so are the new style B&L. Victor basically bouth the names to put on their traps. Just to add even more confusion to the already confusing used trap market. The Bridgers are good #11's as well as the afore mentioned SC.

Sleepy Creek are the King of the 11's. I prefer the double jaw version, single jaws I only use on drowning cables/wire. The SC will wear a hole in your waders if you set them by breaking them over your knee. I built up my hand strength so I can set them without setting them that way.
Old Victor's, new Victor's, Newhouse, old Blake's, new Blakes and Northwoods are all pretty good if they have STRONG SPRINGS, and are not worn out otherwise.
The Bridger are strong and have adjustable pan tension, I just wish they had a double jaw version.
I would pass on Dukes and I'm not anti Duke, I just don't like their #11.
If buying used, check them out really well. Set every one of them to check spring strength.
Good Luck, they are a great little trap.

I like the Sleepy Creek double-jaw version best. Older B&L would be my second choice.

I am new to trapping, I just bought a bunch of stuff from a old Trapper last weekend to get me started for the year. In the package I bought was a dozen 11 double long springs, most are victor I believe. What exactly should I be using these for? My main targets are going to be fox and coon and the occasional coyote. Thanks Great coon trap, but I wouldn't use it for canines. It'll hold skunks, grinners, mink, muskrat.

They will hold any fox or coyote you have a good pad catch on, the problem is not lack of strength, but the small jaw spread. But, Eastwood is correct, not a great choice for canines. An interesting fact, those responsible for catching the otter to re-introduce into Illinois used #11's to catch them. They are tough little traps.
