new to bait making. I've got 3gal of Beaver meat an beef fat ground up 50/50. I'm tainting it as we speak. I haven't added anything to it yet. I have about 4oz beaver tail oil , 16oz pure beaver castor and 2oz of oil from the oil sacks. How much of each should i add to the 3gals of meat looking for a good coyote fox bobcat bait. Thks

first thing i would do is take half of the 3#s and preserve it fresh. then taint the rest to what you want as a tainted base and preserve it there sodium benzoate is what i use. then from there i am clueless but i would split it down into quart jars. then take one quart and figure out what you want to add to it. this is where i am no help. i have made a version of a bill nelson bait you can find that in the archives. reason to only play with one quart is you dont want to mess something up working with the whole 3 gallons all at the same time unless you are adding a bait solution to each gallon. honestly thats what i would do id split it into i gallon batches and get dobbins solution jamesons x and locklears bait solution and you will have 3 gallons of good bait that are all different. depending on how much youre trapping 3 gallons of bait would last me at least 4 years but i dont run a big line. good luck to you the archives are you friend
