Can I build beaver floats out of cedar wood or will that cause issues as far as them chewing on them or causing issues?

I don' think you need to worry about it. Just bait those floats with something they like to eat, Willow aspen or poplar.

Good to know, thanks! Anybody got some detailed plans for making some out of dimensional lumber and not logs and stuff, didn’t have any luck searching the archives either? Check in the archives, not mistaken this was discussed in length quite a while ago plus pictures.

I haven’t had much luck unless there’s current. But others have. Here’s the rough dimensions, I put styrofoam sandwiched in 2/3rds of it, with extra styro in the front. Sat nice first try.

Thanks shakeyjake, that’s exactly what I was looking for, my plan is to run them in current on rivers and I believe that design is meant to be run in rivers and the V shape keeps the 330 facing downstream and squared up with the current No Prob. Got my first beaver using it in a big culvert spring time. After a few they got smart to it though.

i run mine 36" long. width depends on your trap, check it before you screw it down. that white pipe is for eye appeal and as a scent holder. rain can't wash it out.

Thanks Hern, r u able to get dimensions on one of those so I can build one? 2 x 4's are 24" long with foam insulation between. Where trap fits, the width depends on trap you are using.
