Doing a little Mid-December fox trapping using an Armchair hay set. Easy makes and remakes.

Nice catches. Those are some really red foxes.

Do you tripped traps from deer or turkeys?

Would that work for coyotes?

Nice looking fox. Looks like it's in your back yard, good thinking, have some fun and not waste gas running all over.

houndone I’ve caught both fox and coyotes in hay sets. I’ve even caught doubles. My set is 2 traps chained together, with the chain through a ring attached to a cable stake. Many times they are caught in both traps.

I’d post pictures but I am technically challenged!

In the past I have made sets like this using the used hay or straw from the chicken coop with excellent results. They really stand out in the snow and with all the "flash" of the hay and feathers I have even taken some cats in them.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Many coyotes are caught in hay sets every year. I just found that the armchair configuration positions the animals how I want them working the set. If you use the “SEARCH” feature, you can find a slide by slide tutorial on how to properly make this set.

Good post Dave, it is always good to hear from you.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

How far back do you put the trap from the center of the U on this set for coyotes.
