How do you remove wax off the trap dog and pan? I use a file and scrape it off after it’s hardened but I was thinking about taking a plumbing torch and melting them off? Has anyone tried this? Just trying to find something faster and easier

I use a lighter and works fine. A torch might be a bit too hot.

The Best method I have found, is too dip the trap with the trigger mechanism facing UP so the Hot Wax drains and cools Away from the trigger!!!

When done properly. Their will be no need to scrape or burn the wax off.

I made some hangers with #9 wire for waxing traps. Has worked very well for me.

I use a thin file and file the top and end o f the dog and the pan notch. I do this right after processing.

I used to just scrap the wax off
But because I'm always looking for a little more pan tension I now use the butane mini torch after it is set
It doesn't give much extra tension but I believe ever little bit helps
Just what works for me

I use the tip of my knife to make sure that they night latch cutout is scraped clean and then set and dry fire the trap x3. Clean off the night latch cutout again and I'm rollin.

I'm with Savell on this one. I take all the freshly waxed traps and set them in a line, then just move the torch along the line of traps, focusing on the area where the dog and the notch in the pan connect. Doesn't take but a second.

I'll use a dremel tool with a wire wheel sometimes. Other times, a torch.
