I cut the bottom run of wire off leaving six inch spikes to jab in the ground. Once the plants get up some size and start poking out I weave the branches back in. They get pretty sturdy after enough of that.


Another vote for exactly this! Eventually the spikes going into the ground will rust out, but that will be 10-15 years and I’ll stake em then. Happy trapping! ScottW
