warrior OP trapper Joined: Jan 2007 Georgia	Tuning up a new batch of the duke supermag belisle copies. It ain't true that the safety always stays where you put it. At least not on that one single spring. Even just a single spring catch was enough to snag both hands by the fingertips. I was able to pull loose the side the safety was still set but the other wasn't budging. The missus got a crash, emphasis on crash, course in how to operate an rts setter, lol. These traps are STOUT and if anything the springs are stronger than their regular 330 mag.

beaverpeeler trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Oregon	I remember trying to explain to my 4 year old how to swing over the safety dog after I compressed the spring on a BMI 220 super mag that had my left hand. Couldn't quite get him to do it so I had to navigate back to the boat ramp about 3 miles away. Will kept asking if I was going to die. LOL Last edited by beaverpeeler; 04/05/25 11:19 PM. Trapset trapper T Joined: Jan 2009 Nebraska	In a “pinch” you can use the RTS setter as a safety. Close jaws of setter on jaws of trap. It’s not as handy as a spring type safety but not a bad way to handle/maneuver a set trap if you don’t have a spring type safety with you. www.rtssetter.com
