That is crazy would have wondered it it had rabies. Only thing I have had come at me have been coon, bobcat otter, and beaver but those were all in traps or in a cable.

Lucky thar didn't get infected.

I don't know much about muskrats. Only caught about 8 in my life and that was for a friend when they were working on draining his lake on the dam.

we had a fox and a mink run down the street last week , different days , we are about 1/2 mile off the river to the east both came from that direction.
my dog barked and the fox stood there frozen looking at us for about a minute till the neighbors screen door slammed shut , when she came out , I clapped and it stopped again , so the neighbor could see it as well
then it took of to the north

Never ran anything on purpose, except barn rats, but have seen people that do, a pox on them when the aim for box turtles!...craziest incidents were 2 crows, separate times ,the same year... never heard or saw any other crows hit before or since.
Dove flew into the windshield once and the explosion of feathers was something! like an animal house scene...
