I’ve used pieces of poplar shaved down etc on a homemade castor mound as eye appeal for a beaver set. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried pieces of pvc. I saw a few pieces laying around my garage and thought that may work. I have two new jobs starting next week. I may try it.

Yes, been using them for years with success. I have used them alone at the edge of creek and pond banks....no lure or smells. And then also with "bait" type smells like popular bud, spearmint, cinnamon, etc. Great change up. Set for a back foot as the 'rats, coon love them. I use what I have but prefer a thinner pipe about 12-16 inches and drive it part way into ground.
Good luck!

I have some 1” and 3/4” from a recent irrigation project and hvac project. I’ll see what happens. Thanks

I often find PVC in dams in urban areas.

A bit off topic, but has anyone else noticed clay flower pots and broken pieces of clay flower pots in urban beaver dams? I find a lot of them. There was one shallow “cactus” orange clay pot that I would find in a particular dam about every time a new pair moved in and rebuilt. I started tossing it out as far I could in the water like a frisbee, sometimes 8 would get it out there 30 yards or more, and they would always bring it back. Eventually it broke and I started finding broken pieces. After almost a decade, I still find an piece of it in that dam about every year.
