About 80 percent of my big trap line is on fire or burnt . Pretty sure before it is over it will all be smoked . At moment it is coming down the hill to the last 11 miles that has not burned yet and it just started up the hill at the end were I have 6 miles of line I cut out a few years ago that I catch 50 percent of my wolves on . Going to be replacing some steel this year . Pretty much the hole thing .

The worst part is I have probably 150 marten traps getting cooked and a but load of 330 along with a bunch of #4 and other stuff. It is headed towards my bear bait site now. Glad I pulled all my wolf traps and brought them home .

Sorry to hear Team V.
You certainly aren’t alone regarding burnt lines. It’s started up again a few days ago in Manitoba, instead of human caused, it’s now lightning. Saskatchewan….same boat.

Wind Blew, crap flew, out came the line crew

I feel your pain sat and watched a large portion of mine burn a few years back almost made me cry 20+ years of line development had a friend tell me it was good for the country new growth all that told him thats all fine and dandy but it’s more than that not to mention the gear lost

Well seems to be out or almost. Lost just a little more miles . Looks like 58 miles of line of the 74 miles of line burned. According to satellite photos and DNR shot a photo of some of it looks like it burned down to river but not the edges so hoping lots of my boxes and traps did not burn. Looking at photos seems to be lots of pockets that did not burn so hopefully there were areas for marten to hide out in . To swampy to go out there till winter and river to low to run a boat so will have to wait till winter to see how bad it is
