Pick up a bible. Don't just read it, study it. Am I the only one who has trouble "getting " the Bible when reading the KJV ? I'll spend 30 or so min reading it and just sit there after like a lot of the ye olde talk just dosen't connect . Same when your trying to talk to a preacher or something and they just say the same thing out the Bible verbatim.... It's like , my guy, you just said what told you I don't understand back to me the exact same way.... Your not helping. Like when your parents would help you with your homework and just keep repeating " IF LIL JOHNNY HAD 3 APPLES AND SALLY TOOK AWAY 2 !!" Got to the point I'll just Google "bibles verses on" whatever and go from there , read a half dozen or so interpretations see what makes some sense Unfortunately, the bible is not actually a book that reads like a how to or a plot. It is a collection of writings that can be interpreted in many ways, hence all the differing Christian denominations. The Ten Commandments are at least written rules of the road. I find reading most of it extremely boring. Especially, the begat sections.

Pick up a bible. Don't just read it, study it. … it reads like a Stephen king novel at times … a very dark book in places Oh yeah, the Bible is absolutely crazy at times. But it has to be this way in my opinion to teach life lessons in a more interesting pace

A person has to be careful where they get there independent info from. A lot of places water down the Bible to fit there own agenda.

“ Do agnostics believe in God?
Agnostics believe that the existence or non-existence of God is logically and scientifically unknowable. Therefore, they leave open the possibility that God does exist as well as the possibility that God does not exist. Theistic agnostics do believe in God but admit that they cannot prove God's existence.
What is it called when you believe in God but not religion?
A belief in God but not religion falls under the category of agnostic theism. The belief in God exists, but there may be a rejection of the institutional orthodoxy and orthopraxy of the religion.
Do agnostics believe in a higher power?
Agnostics may or may not believe in a higher power. Those who do believe in a higher power embrace agnostic theism. Those who do not believe in a higher power embrace agnostic atheism.
What's the difference between theist and agnostic? A theist believes in God with a level of certainty that an agnostic person is not willing to accept. An agnostic person may or may not believe in God, but qualifies either belief with the premise that the existence or non-existence of God cannot be known with certainty.”
I don’t believe their are many true atheists. I think there are a lot of agnostics.
According to pew 28 percent of Americans claim non religious affiliation with about 6 percent claiming atheist.

Yes, the Bible is a tough read at times. A person has to be careful where they get there independent info from. A lot of places water down the Bible to fit there own agenda. That’s how Islam extremism started, they twist their Koran around and leave out certain parts. There’s a kid from Toronto that was getting radicalized by his Imam at the local mosque and left for Syria to get serious about it. The Imam he ran into there told him he’s interpreting it all wrong and straightened him out. That man, Mubin Sheik went on undercover to take down the Toronto 18……..and now you know the rest of the story…….Good day.

To understand the Bible, a person needs to study the whole Bible. Pick and choosing versus leads to misinterpreting and that is dangerous. God is a very loving God, but as he said, vengeance is his.

Some people are so busy worshipping at their own alter they wouldn't have any room in their heart for anything but themselves. You can spot them all over social media they assume everything they do, no matter how mundane, is interesting to others.
If they have a YouTube channel they don't allow "negativity" such as asking a question. Same when they make a new thread here- If you don't comment that they are awesome you're the bad guy.
Change my mind.

"Man makes it harder, when he leans on his own understanding." Good point Swamp. We have the spirit to teach us and give us discernment. Other wise the scriptures are just another document.
