I got our pumpkins all carved for the month of Halloween. I used the large foam pumpkins that are carvable with a hot knife. It's like a soldering iron with an exacto blade in it. Then some LED pumpkin lights and you are set.
I used a dremal tool with a stone to detail the stems and dry brushed some burnt umber matte craft paint to detail the base of the stem and to also highlight the ridges and add some dirt smudges to make them look real.

They don't rot and shrivel up and they will be stored until next year.

What did the seeds taste like? Roasting the seeds in the oven are part of the tradition.

That picture of the face in the dark has that black spot floating in the throat area that looks like it’s not attached to anything. In the daylight pic it looks like it must be a hole in back for a light maybe?

Fantastic! I would do that to save time, but Zim still grows pumpkins and we set them around in front of the house for fall decorating, along with some mums and other stuff. Sometimes the chickens bust into a pumpkin and have a feast, which is fun.

We have a few pre-carved LED lit ones we set on the hearth by the fireplace. They are store bought and not NEARLY that nice!
