I know a guy that shoots them a and other problem critters with his. You could go fro front foot catch with #2 orb3 if you have them or something snare would be cheap and any left over will also work well for coon and yotes. IF legal of course.

Dad and my uncle shot them with a spotlight years ago when my uncle had a place leased to run cows

I am sure a thermal would be lots more effective

Do a lot of thermal work on Beaver, works real well in my area. I deal with lots of dams and flooding so will rip hole in dam in morning then come back at dark to shoot. Have an idea how far shots will be so u can sight gun in for exact distance if possible as many times you have a small moving target and it can be difficult to be guessing holdover or under.
Shoot with a suppressor if.possible.
Play the wind, they have incredible noses and are just as weary as a coyote if they smell you.

It’s typically the quickest way to solve a beaver problem, usually can have a complaint wrapped up in couple hrs.

LOL, my problem is night shooting and avoiding beaver and rats, and only taking out nutria! I’ve learned how to differentiate between all three. The coons and possums do a fair nutria imitation also!

Better check on laws as some states forbid shooting fur bearers even for dispatch
