I know we should have a boat load of wild choke cherries this year. My big cherry trees were choked full of blossoms until our last storm and winds. Should be lots of food for the coon and opossums.

Talked to an orchard owner today with several thousand trees. The orchard is in eastern WI. He stated they had one of the best bloom years they have ever had but with all of our cool and cold nights bee activity has been slow and late. He is hoping that pollination has been good but is very cautious.

I would think there’s quite a few bee colonies up your way. Lots of big commercial outfits chasing star thistle honey around in that country. But they often don’t migrate into that area much before mid summer when thistle is really rolling along and there’s fairly warm weather. Also might be hard for a garden spot to pull bees in once they’ve keyed in on the thistle as it’s a pretty heavy nectar source more often than not

Crisis averted. Temps well over 80 today and bees everywhere. Working the blueberries like it's their job.
