I had a skunk tail left from 3 offered to GFW that he didn't want. Got 15 $ apiece for other 2. [Linked Image]
Rather than toss it i decided to use it making up some skunktail hair jigs. When I was a teenager decades ago, I use to mold my own jigheads and tie bucktail jigs for walleye fishing. One year I ran out of bucktail but still had a dried skunk tail. I made up some jigs using it and caught walleyes on them. It was in the 70's that I switched to using plastic twister tails so I hadn't made hair jigs in decades.
With the recent popularity of hair jigs in walleye fishing, I decided to make some up using the skunktail that didn't sell.

Hair jigs have become very expensive to buy.
The ones I made didn't cost a dime as I had all the materials.
I "almost" felt like a kid again.

Roughly how many jigs per tail? You may have discovered a niche market for your "cull" tails.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Made up a couple dozen and had a third of the tail left.

Find a guy who makes muskie spinners. There is a very good market.
