What else should I see in the area to keep the wife and granddaughter happy ?

There is a little rest area outside of town to view without venturing inbound

How far from Mesa Verde is it?

I would go east/ south and see the Colorado river and lakes before they are no more. I have a 53 ft summerset I need to find a new home for.

… maybe a homemade ice cream stand or something

… just keep them away from the polygamists

They wanna swim in the hotel pool ......


Gonna have to get up early to see an elk .....might have to leave them at the hotel

Goggle and find a ma and pa..... They will probably have a Indian accent,,, but if you find the good one this time of year it will be great.

Canyonlands Nat Park Island in the Sky, Arches Nat Park, Dead Horse Point State Park. All are very close. Mesa Verde is about 3 hrs away, also worth seeing.

Dead Horse Point State Park is close to Moab. A cheap man’s Grand Canyon.

Take a jeep tour through the slick rock trails, visit dead horse point, hike in canyon lands, hike in arches, take a raft trip on the green river, there are a lot of bear on the la sal and a decent number of elk, go to hole in the rock. There is quite a bit of stuff to do in Moab it will be ridiculously hot, and tourist season is in full swing so prices will be through the roof on everything.

If you got room take a 4 wheeler or side × side.
We went through in March stayed in nephi utah, I haven't been in Moab
for 20 years now but awesome jeeping country.
Had several job offers in Utah before I landed in montana.
Price utah is a mining area coal I believe.
I like old mining stuff.

If you get near Price, take a drive up Nine Mile Canyon to see the petroglyphs cut in stone. Although the Great Hunt Panel gets a lot of attention, there’s lots of random rocks to be found with etchings.

Bruin Point in Carbon County is another great place to visit. Incredible views from the top of the mountain.
