I did not know that IN had jack rabbits

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Dad always talked about jacks around here during the Depression. They were a problem and got into the hay windrows. The locals here also had roundups and shot not onIy jacks but coyotes and any other varmint considered a problem. I haven't seen a jack around here for 50 years. Still a few out in Wyoming. Probly too many predators find them when they are young in the nest. Don't think anything could catch a full-grown jack. They can flat cover some ground in high gear.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I love eating Cotton Tail Rabbits.I dont care for Snowshoe Rabbits. They are tougher and taste piney later in the season.Never had a Jack Rabbit.Would try one though.
