Wife and I travel abroad almost every year. We order currency from AAA in our town. No fees. We rely on credit cards for major purchases.

While AAA will obtain the currency for us, we cannot return unused foreign currency to them. If a trip was to Europe and we have EUROs left over, we stick them in a drawer for a future trip.
