I can only speak from what I've seen from a friend of mine who has put up a lot of his own beaver. He has several plywood boards and has the patterns traced onto each board, front and back. That way he can use both sides of the board at one time.

2 ways have all your boards ready. Pattern sould be 1/4 of the oval.
1. Find center of board. Cut pattern at outer most ring. Put inside corner at center of board and trace on all boards. Cut out next lower ring and repeat.
2. Do as in No.1 but on cardboard. Make seperate pattern for each ring. Save patterns for when you have to make more boards. The cardboard patterns trace easier also.

Mr. Finch,
Just square up a 4'x4' piece of 3/4 plywood. Put a sharpie line through the center vert. and horiz. Place your pattern in one quadrant and punch a hole through the pattern with a screw driver every 2 or 3 inches....then connect the holes with a sharpie....mark each ring 1-7 on each line. Some guys use diff. colors for each ring.

Rick

If you look at the top right hand corner of the pattern sheet it explains in detail how to copy the pattern.
Cheers Jim

mr. finch, make a pattern on 4feetx4feet of luan. It is the thin 1/4 inch plywood used for the back of a cabinet or other wood project. Draw it on and cut out the lines with a jig saw with two blades, leaving 4 spots with out a cut to hold the pattern together. A one time thing, you have a wood pattern. Lay it on the beaver plywood and spray pait the pattern on. Easy. LM.

Ideal size for your boards is 32" by 48". That size gets you 3 boards out of a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. it would take a [Please excuse my language... I'm an idiot] large beaver to not fit that size board.
