This will be my first time finishing my furs. I am putting them up on wood and would like to hang them to dry. Question is how do you hang them? Do you put a nail/cup hook/?? on the end of the board and then hang it from a what? And how close together can you hang them?

The room will stay about 50 - 60 degrees with fans blowing.

Pictures would be nice. Thanks for any and all help.

I bore a hole in the nose end
and hang them on a nail.

I use to hang them by the nose on hooks I got from where I worked.

This year I drilled holes in my boards and hung them on the same hooks nose down. I like nose down better.

Grub, mine are that far apart so I can turn them at 45* and get more air down the rows when I am trying to get a pile dry fast with out heating the shop up to hot. I try to run the temp at a constant 65-70*. Plus when I cut the front legs off I don't have to take the off the hooks to trim both side right.

Nose down lets more grease run off and you dont get a greasy tail. Gives you a drier pelt.

He's got a video on here on fleshing and handling coon. He uses rubber bands to hold the leg hole closed tight until the leg dries and then he trims it off close.

TexA is the man to listen to. He knows his fur and to put it up. He talked me through many of my issues and got me top dollar for my fur.
