A year ago, there was a good thread with lots of pickled egg recipes. I printed it , then lost it. Can we get this going again?

Thanks

I use to buy the one gallon sausage jars from the stop and go stores when they were nearly empty of the hot sausage. Maybe had to buy 3-4 sausages to get the jar, but never had any trouble getting them.
Just boil the eggs and drop them in.
If you leave them too long, they get rubbery and hard to eat.
I like them after about 3 days of soaking in the juice.

Hard to believe how many eggs you can get in a one gallon jug.
Buy about 5 dozen eggs if you want, most will go in.
Just need someone to eat them all.

I am my ancestors and they were me.

With BCHunter on this one, friend of mine's grandma gave me some pickled beets, used a glass gallon pickle jar, poured in the beets and juice then boiled the eggs and dropped them in. 3 days later, the wife made me sleep on the porch. LOL

MAKE sure you use a clean jar, not one used to make k-9 bait or to store jack makeral. LOL

The vinegar is what cures/pickles the eggs. Stop at your local pizza shop and ask for the jars and juice, I've used "sweet pepper, jalapino, sweet pickle, dill pickle, they are all aboutt the same, like mentioned above, you'll stink.

Don't eat those things!!! Don't you know what will happen if you drink beer with them?

there is no good reason whatsoever to dab on gland lure, a good wholesome male odor is all thats needed to provide cover scent for pickled eggs, lose the underarm deodorant for a few weeks before and after the eggs is all that is required.

We use Jalapeno juice and they are wonderful. They aren't real spicy but they have that great pepper taste. Best pickled eggs I have ever had, and I love pickled eggs!!!!

Heres mine,
equal parts of water, vinegar, and sugar. For a gallon jar, it takes about 5 cups of each. Bring water and vinegar to a boil before adding the sugar by the way. Stir all 3 for about 5 minutes while boiling then pour over your eggs(already boiled and peeled). I also put some galic cloves and pickling spice in the bottom of my jar before hand. Anyway, when all that is done I add half cup of beet juice over the top and set them up for 5 days. I'm going to have to make some now, I can a jar of them bout 3 days and my wife also makes me sleep on the porch for a week after them!! Enjoy

This is my own recipe. They turn out just a little spicy, (not burn yer face off hot).

I usually double this and make about 4 dozen at a time

TAPPEL’S SPICY PICKLED EGGS

1-2 dozen hard boiled eggs

4 cups white vinegar
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1 jar sliced jalapenos (12-15 oz.)
1 onion chopped or sliced or you can use a jar of cocktail onions
(Sliced onions really soak up the heat)
3 tbsp. salt
3 tbsp. hot sauce
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. crushed red pepper
1 tbsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. mustard seeds

Bring all ingredients to a boil, boil for 5 minutes. Pour over eggs in glass jar. Seal and store in refrigerator for 7 days.

Here's the one I use. It turns out very good.

1 quart vinegar
1 dozen eggs
4 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons cayanne pepper
2 tablespoons pickling spice
4 fresh jalapeno peppers sliced

Bring the vinegar, salt, cayanne, pickling spice and jalapeno peppers to a boil. Let simmer 5 minutes. Let the mixture cool and pour over the boiled eggs in a glass jar. Takes about 2 weeks, and the eggs are ready to eat. You can add more or less jalapeno's to your own taste.

never heard of the tabasco--but it sounds great!!
but i've been smoking boiled eggs for 3-4 years now and never had anyone not mention how good they were!!
i leave in the smoker 2 hours [cold smoker]let em set for a while[an hour?]on the kitchen counter
make a brine--1/2 wht vinegar--1/2 water boil 5 mins
pickling spice to taste[2-tbs?]
sliced yellow onion [gets real smokey and good also]
and a cup of dryed cayanne peppers
i do this in gallon jars
