No doubt over the years we have all done that a time or two.Old formulas or ingredients with worn or soiled labels sitting around or outdoors.Have found a few that have been around 30-40 years and just forgot about them or where you put them years ago and finally come upon them.

Those fox glands have a funny taste after they break down.

That 40 year old lure is probably some of the best, isn't it? smile

I've done that a few times more than I care to. I get busy with too many things going on. Mix something up here bottle something up over there. Fill an order then check the e-mail to see if any more orders have come in. Check to see what's up on Trapperman, get a cup of coffee look at the clock and go OH SH--- I got to get up in 4 hours and go to work. Next day mow the lawn etc. and before long I say to myself (You knew you should have put a lable on that) Now where did you put the recepie book? Oh no, I left the book out on the 5 gal. bait bucket and it rained like h---- last night! Thank God for the files on the computer and a 2nd book.

Ya stuff happens! LMAO

Once stored some "coon berry lure in some old glass cherry soda bottles. Well, thought A bottle of 'coon lure was soda and well... it wasn't... Didn't taste bad though. Just a bit potent.

well i figure i can smell pretty well on the differences, at least good enough to tell what animal or type of lure that it is,when im smelling if labels are gone there aree basically only 3 lures in my shed
1. predator gland lure
2. predator food / or food /gland which i treat the same way
3. sweet coon
all bait i make its either meat for predators or fish for coons, i smell every lure as soon as i get it, heck some of it would catch me!
