could someone please put in another pic of a pvc pipe set. ADC's pic red x'ed though i did see the block set. I believe i make that set differently and had some success, like to see another version. thanks For my pipe sets, I just drive a piece of straight PVC into the bank on a 45 degree angle and put the trap an inch out from the end of the pipe.

No dog/cat proof traps but want to catch coons in the old lady with 20 cats running around her backyard? Get yourself a cheap plastic kiddy pool(now's the best time 'cause Summer's over)and fill it with water. Put something in the middle that sticks out of water, cinderblock, large stone, upside down bucket) and pour some sweet stuff on top. Place a few traps on drags under water. Coon will be caught and run off. Next coon will jump in and also get caught. Most cats won't go in water, especially not for sweets. That's a great idea!

Well perhaps...but lets look at it from another perspective. Say you have a blue pool,(well, most are)with a dark dyed trap. Lots of contrast there....much, much more than a dark stream bottom...AND no easy way to bed the trap, like wiggeling it in a sandbar or bed trap bed. Basiclly, you just set the trap and place it at the bottom of the pool...or did I miss something? Ok, yes... covered by water, but some 'coon will notice a trap that stands out and let's not forget depending on the depth of water, birds of all kinds and sizes, will be in the pool, drinking and bathing. Now, if that lil' ol' lady you spoke of lives in town..well I can tell you as an ADC trapper, that many cities, villages, townships, etc. have laws against setting a foothold under water in a kiddie pool or not...SO, one should take these things into consideration...Now, do I see some promise for a set like this, ummm maybe, as last resort when other types of trapping, snaring and yes, even calling that last raccoon does not work!

Right on coonhuntingkid! I'll be doing this in a few more weeks right in two old ladies yards(don't tell anyone but I'll be doing this right in the neighborhood, no little kids close by)..Many, many guys simply drop a coilspring on the edge of a river at a pocket set and don't worry about birds, coons upsetting traps or clear water.
To dump, step on one side and let drain over rubber booted foot or hold one side down with a stick or lift one side and dump.
New construction sites are a good place to find coons, especially if a lot of the workers throw thier leftovers from lunch off to the side somewhere..Set off into the wood edge so your traps aren't found.
