pure beaver sac oil has a high percentage of preservitive type chemicals and will retain its original properties for a great lenth of time without losing its chemical make up. In other words no preservitive is needed for long time storage. I do recomend refrigeration if you will be storing for more than 5 years. At an average temp of 60-65 degrees the chemical make up will begin to break down after approx. 5 yrs. and the products effectivness for lure formulation will deminish to a large degree. Hope this helps you out.
