I want to stretch a few skunks fur side out on wood boards.

What are some precautions I can follow to dry skunks on my boards and get them off easily?

was thinking the same thing.....if your thinking your going to dry out the fur and use it as a wall hanger or anything else ...well its just a dryed fur the bugs are going to eat it...you would want it tanned if your going to keep them...if thats not it then i am confused as to why one would want to dry fur out on a skunk??

you can turn them just like a fox or coyote. I would not put them back on the boards after turning.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

According to my NAFA agent...even though skunks are fur in according to "procedure"...it doesn't matter one way or another.

Nearly every skunk pelt I see at our NAFA depot is fur out and whenever I ship them that's how I stretch them.

Just fur in for a bit and turn...

To answer your question, use a belly board, a small tapered stick to "Tent" the pelt so it will have slack to facilitate removal.
