Looks to me that that was one huge coon! What kind of set was that so close to that bank, a dry pocket?

When setting for coon around a small stream I usually try to set at least one #1 coilspring or a #1.5 coilspring in shallow water with a rubber crawdad attached to the pan. It worked for me, give it a shot.

i agree that the crawdad on the pan works, however i have heard of people catching great horned owls, so under the edge of a large log would probably be better, works on mink and sometimes rats

Triple on coons last year. All within 15 feet of each other.

U can put them as close as u want as long as the critters cant touch each other. The triple above had 2 sets 15 ft apart on the right side of the creek, and one on the left.

I love seeing pictures like these...especially the doubles and triples. I'm no professional but I'm thinking about this year doing a day by day post of the days catches, there locations, etc. Maybe help some of the these beginners learn a new trick or two..good idea or no?

Double in the "dog-proofs"...if it's good enough for one set, it's good enough for 2 or 3. A live 'coon is your best attactor!!! wink

LT Grey I see those are trapmasters. I am going to try some this year and was wondering if you modified them at all, if you used fish or marshmellows, and if you put the bait behind the trigger in front or both. Also do you have good success with them, pullouts? thanks

Skip Jack herring, that I catch and grind myself.
It's a good oily fish that 'coons really love!

With TrapMasters, don't ever let a 'coon get a hold of anything. Keep the circle, clutter free!
