I am not sure, I use 1.5's and basically put the strong jaw at the lip of the hole, so the pan is close to 4 inches away? I do still do a slight offset of the trap from the hole. About 3 fingers width to the right.

ive found that the grizz dont have to be set right by the den site but can be on the trail their using between the den sites during the coon rut. what ever is easier and more convenient to the trapper. ok

Timber and soy beans on one side of the road, corn on the other. Any standing corn late in the year. Little creeks, big creeks, little rivers, big rivers, den trees and barns (old houses) trap them in that order and you will always be on the coon.
