someone used to make one, 2 V plates hinged together, w/ handle and spring return. Does anyone have a pic of one, or know who sells them?

thanks

I could take you a picture if you want.

I got one at the NTA last year. Otter creek lures had them. All the others were not built as well. The guy doing the skinning there had the same one from Otter creek, he used it to pull otter tails. Its built sturdy.

The guys trapperman handle is.... InTrapTrap and he is from IN.

If I remember right he split the tail, got it started and put it on a tail puller like above. A couple of cranks and it was out. He did almost tip the table over on one otter. I watched him do 3 of them I think. That was at the NAFTA demo area. Don't know if the guy is ever on here.

I can almost visualize how it works, but if the tail goes in the forks, I don't want to know where the round pipe goes......

Wieght of the animal helps advance it as the handle returns for the next pump.

Skinning. I clamp a critters foot in there to make the first cuts to ppen them up. Works great! Also, on mink once the tail is pulled I clamp both the back feet in there and pull the hide to his head. It works great for that and also for skinning the head out as you can twist and turn it and all the time keep tugging.

We have them In the WTAs fur school. Not worth a darn In my opinion. I can pull a otter tail In half the time It would take you on that contraption. Same goes for fox or coyotes.
I just have a single piece of steel with a V cut In It. It's mounted In my bench vise. Works alot better then what you guys are talking about.
And on otter just open the tail grab the bone In one hand the hide In the other and just pull.

Rich I went from one of these to a wall mount and never looked back, especially on coon. I have a few made up if you want to try one.
