Legislative
The New Hampshire House of Representatives voted 241 to 118 to kill the anti trapping bill. We all need to be thankful that we have a large and diverse House that can listen to reason. We also need to be grateful for the many individuals that spoke up at hearings, wrote a piece for their local paper, or contacted one or more legislators on our behalf. There are those who lead the effort as well as the many who shared in the load. Also some who shared our concern and contributed behind the scene. For all trappers both now and into the future we must express our most sincere thanks. Our long heritage is preserved and we may now continue to provide service to society as the small group of unique outdoor individuals that provide so much value toward wildlife management science, wildlife population control, and furbearer advocacy.
LEGISLATIVE ALERT
HB565 was voted inexpediant to legislate 12 to 2 today 3/22/07. This is good news , however Rep. Valincourt promises it will go to the House floor for a whole House vote possibly as soon as next Wednesday 3/28/07. The NHTA is asking all members and supporters to call all State Reps. and ask them to oppose HB 565. We were told that if this passes the House it will most certainly pass the Senate. Your help is needed now! Please call your state Rep and ask them to vote No on HB 565!!! Any questions contact
