don Wolf trapper Joined: Dec 2006 evansville Indiana age72	Not the wrong thing ,but, it will not make you a penny more. As long as you keep a few pins in the tail to keep it open to dry, is all it needs.

beachcomber13 trapper B Joined: Dec 2007 Port Jervis, NY	I use wire stretchers and find that clothespins hold the tail open quite easily. Two is all it takes.

Landon trapper Joined: Jan 2009 Pennsylvania	i saw this at a convention a couple years ago, but if you take a piece of cardboard about 10 inches long and 5 inches wide, start it at the base of the tail and slide it down flat on the tail. once the tail is completely covered i just staple the cardboard in place or nail it, etc... the cardboard sucks out the grease and they dry real nice looking.

I want them to look good, but don Wolf is right, it doesn't increase the value at all. Last year a lot of my coon only had half a tail and they brought the same as those with nice tails all pinned nice and even. It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze.
