There ain't none. Just practice practice practice. I was skinning coyotes before I ever set a trap and it does get easier, but I don't know of any tricks, other than a skinning machine or the golf ball and rope technique.
It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze.

Yeah, but it doesn't make it a heck of a lot easier.

I cut front feet with branch loopers also, also use a gunny sack for a better grip as I put the started fur under my leg while holding the tail and loose fur and doin a squat. When you get to the front leg holes put your fingers in each leg hole and lean backwards with a solid arm jerking motion you can pull it down to the ears. I worked for a fur buyer for a number of years and could skin coyotes by hand in 5 minutes. Don't get me wrong they will wear you down quick, I sure don't miss those days of soild coyote skinning.
Always looking for repairable stoploss traps and parts.

Use a sharp knife and when in doubt always cut high.
Just ask your mommy...

Once you free up the back legs and tail DON'T pull the hide down. Make a fist and start pushing (punching) between the hide and body. Do this all the way down past the front legs.Once past the front legs pull the hide down.A wood peg, rebar stake etc should fit between the front leg and body. PUSH down hard, this should take you past the elbow joints. Ring the front legs and cut the tendons to make fron legs go "limp" they will pull out easy. Throw a towel on neck portion of hide, grab belly of hide with right hand and kneel on towel (towel gives your knee a better grip especially with a skinning apron on). This should push the hide to the ears (sometimes need a touch of knife work to get it started over the neck). The head is fairly easy. Keep a towel handy to wipe up any blood. Think pushing instead of pulling as much as possible. This will save you alot of fatigue.
Unless its an old dog I prefer a cold coyote, less blood and no fur clean up. Skinning a coyote is only part of the over all fur put up. start washing a bunch and you add tons of time.
