Anyone have any ideas to make hooks on wire stretchers grab better.

file them down sharper i guess.

on the fur or wire

use a pair of pliers and pinch them shut a little, you do mean that they don't grab the wire

To make them grab the wire better, Spread the base apart a bit where they ride on the wire frame.

What BigBob says usually works for me.

Any modification would depend on the style of the stretchers. Does the base of yours look like this one?



Or, are yours the single pronged, pointed type that do not have a solid connected base like the one pictured? The frame wire on that style spreads at the base.

Man I had the same thing happen this evening seem like there sliding up the wire.was going to write but glad i seen this.or maybe i'm doing something wrong?

Take a flat file and ruff the wire up on the side this will keep the hooks from sliding up . Some people usr cloth pins above the hooks but with grease from hide they still will slide up.

stihltrapper posed, do we know what type of wire stretcher he is talking about yet?

There is a big difference on the choice of remedies to correct this debacle.
