Nice...fur buyers weren't even touching coon in Texas last year and with the few fur buyers we have (less than 6 now and scattered all over the state) you won't get anything to travel to them since the cost of gas will beat out the price you receive for the fur.

Share your trapping, hunting & fishing time with others, especially those that are less fortunate and our youth!

I have found that by throwing down a handfull of turkey or down feathers around a little grizz,a lot more coon are taken per trap. I have also been getting in deep on blind sets, grass clippings and drags.

Yes, feathers are very attractive to raccoons!

I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but I have found that if I put a cotton ball with some coyote gland lure on it in an old sardine can with a little fish oil, I seem to pick up mostly the bigger, older, boar coons. I dont use much, just a large drop, but looking over my notes, it make a huge difference on sex and size of coons in my cages.

Raccoons are attracted to coyote and red fox gland lures!

December 17th and boars are already starting to 'rut'.
Notice the neck on the'coon I just picked off the tailgate...fur buyers start gripping when I bring in these 'coons.

I run 4 dz of 160 square buckets in the hills of the Ozarks away from water. Just ponds and little creeks that dry up all the time. I do good on coons this way and have pick up some bobcats along the way. I bought a few of the Bandit Busters to try out. Has any body used them yet. And last yr i bought a dz of Bridger 1.5 coil coilsprings with night latch. I can 4 them do i need to if i pick up a coyote. Plus i added a extra swivel to each trap. Would they make a good coon trap.

LT, I don't notice anything different about that coons neck. What is different about it?

Cody13, better look real close....yes, I know it's a small pic.
Look at the stripe just behind the ears!
That dark small stripe is a rub where the fur is chewed short.

Caught my first rubbed coon back in late Nov. He did way 23 lbs. I believe. Have caught a few more since then.
