What do you folks use for gray fox stretchers? I have never caught one til today, in fact, I've never seen one in our area. I have both medium and large fox stretchers, I'm assuming I use the small fox board?

Its tough getting an avg.Gray on a red board. Skinny neck and shoulders. I Agree. That's why I modify a few of my fox boards to accommodate these different body styles. A block plane and a little sandpaper can do wonders

I Agree. That's why I modify a few of my fox boards to accommodate these different body styles. A block plane and a little sandpaper can do wonders I have a gray pattern. I'm just to lazy to shave down a couple red boards. Besides its a great upperbody workout. So, You are saying that your "put up" Greys end up having big heads and shoulders? You want a new signature? Well, she fit on a medium fox board. A bit tight in the neck region, but the belly board slid in fairly easily. We'll see how tight it is when I turn it in the morning.

Its tough getting an avg.Gray on a red board. Skinny neck and shoulders. Yep, same problem here. Gray fox are skinnier through the neck and shoulder area and a lot of times if you put them on a red fox board you will have a tough time getting the slack out of the head area because the neck and shoulders are hung up on the board. I have a pattern that works well for grays and will be modifying several standard red fox boards to fix this problem.

I use the grey fox board from Grawe's. Grey fox need their own board. Went that route years ago. Use the right board and you will get more length thus more money. Simple as that!
