Is that the big whorl down at the bottom of the belly that always looks thin?

The flanks meaning the the fur where the color line meets on the back legs. The line from the butthole to the feet through the middle of the leg. The fur there fully furred is much fluffier.

To compare Tracy's cat and Marty's cat to each other they would need to both be on a board or dried.

Is there any question the clarity on Marty's cat is a 1 or 1-2, or western or pale?

I don't think any buyer should take off for the flank not being full when the back and belly is fully furred.

I would say closer to a 1-2 belly leaning more toward the 2, looks plenty wide and great spots. back I would say more A grade. And more blue back than pale. And semi heavy.

Ok; since we have some really nice cats I thought I would throw in a South Central Nebraska cat so there would be something that is not at the top of the food chain for grading. grin

I know they are not the best pictures but these are all I have. Don't have a measurement but it is a 34lb cat.
Tell me how bad it is boys!! LOL

Pictures are impossible to tell the nitty gritty from.

The cat I posted has some coffee&cream colors in his belly that hurt the clarity. The camera flash makes it look better than it really is. Going on the picture at face value = I, II, but in person though it's probably a low II. With its overall dark cast, semi heavy heft, and II belly, it will probably bring more on the Taxi Market Than in the fur market.

Camerons is a clinic on fur prep and presentation. If you put up cats, learn how to do it this way.
The back is probably a semi, but the belly is heavy, long, and silky. When a buyer pops it, the belly will be a little narrower than appears here. It is also a pale cat, with pale transitions from the belly to the sides, that helps too. With four piles this one will go in top pile most of the time.

The British Columbia cats are heavy but appear to be dark and narrow. If they don't come out of the finnishing process any better than they look now, they will probably go on the low end of the Heavy piles, just above the lactating females, and brown bellies. The cat on the right in the picture of them laying on the ground might be a Taxi canidate.

I've already looked at the photos of Pro Hunts cat a couple of weeks ago, so I won't comment on that one till some of you other guys look at it.

Ill throw in some trashy cats! lol

1. Does the put up look good?
2. How bad are the cats? haha

The smallest one measured 34 1/2 from nose to base of tail, the one in the middle measure 44 1/2, the farthest measured 43 1/2.

They all pretty much had the same fur thickness.

The grading on cats, I learned from a former buyer. He took the time to come down for coffee and graded all the cats I had on stretchers (13 that day). All south central Nebraska furs.

Marty, yours shows a weak back, and short belly fur. Good spots and possible lenght.

Prohunt: Dave yours has a lot of color loss due to the orange in in the flanks. Short hair. Good length.

Now you professionals let me know if I made a correct call. Not a pro buy any means. But I did pay attention to the man that taught me about cats in our area. Tom

I know, I screwed up and put the legs on the wrong side(first cat put-up) but other than that... Our cats aren't very good ,but man I like catching them.Oh 34 inches nose to base of tail.

When you open the cat, does the cut start and follow the color line on the back of the legs and go to the vent?
