Since you checked the archives and didn't see any I'll share pictures of my rig. laugh It isn't pretty but it works. It uses a hand crank winch for power.

I've shortened the bottom up a lot and also the top some too since I took this pic. The vise grips are mounted on a base that spins 360 degrees with the gambrel.

View of the top. I had 1x1 tubing so I used it up. It will hold my 240 pound carcass off the ground so it must be fairly strong.

The bottom can be moved up and down by pulling the pin and adjusting it to the next hole.

Looks like lots of guys using homemade variations of my original design, good job guys!

Here's mine in action...



I've sold over 150 of them since I started showing folks the design. I'll bet there has been 3x that many home made ones too. You all will wish you'd had one years ago.

14-16" wide. The whole thing is about 18" tall give or take an inch or two.
