It's just 2, 1.5 music wire springs.

Will 1/4 inch quick snaps be large enough to clip a trap to a drowner for coon? Or should I get heavy duty?

I would go heavy duty for longer life unless you are on a budget... someone with more experience on them should give you insight. My question is wether or not fence staples( 1" long requires a hammer to drive into wood) would work for the upper end of a drowner? An example would be to use them at a log crossing set.

I meant to clip the trap to the drowning lock to speed things up for me.

I know, the smaller ones would probably be fine, but I would rather have too much than to little holding power, my question was not related to yours, sorry for the confusion

Lots of 'coon trappers on here, I guess.

Kind of wondering how the market will hold up and how all the DP traps will fair...
