Slowly getting there. Still searching for a resonable priced house within 50 to 75 miles of Anchorage.

So far, I have checked out Willow, Houston, Big lake , Soldotna and Wasilla, AK There is one property that really peaked my interest. It is up in Soldotna. Log Cabin. Looks to be in excellent shape inside and out. New Septic , New well,, new oil monitor (Whatever that is ), electric is all in along with the plumbing. Near the Kenai river . Got over 1 1/2 acres on it.

You gotta learn the lingo and in this case that would be 'down' in Soldotna lol.

Well now Drasselt, thats all a matter of perspective. From Homer it's "up in Soldotna". Absolutely. But since the other references were in the Valley, so then 'down' to Soldotna.

Canada is EAST of Alaska. That all depends on what part of Alaska AND Canada you are referring to.

This round will be responsible for many Musk ox deaths this winter... More than you can say for your .338.

just be glad that 338 broke.... or else we wouldn't have had to sneak up on em like Charles Whitman, and would have ended up packing em out of the original spot they were in...
although, I could have shot the big one that way..

You broke your rifle ?? See what all that recoil does to a rifle!!! LOL Some of us have not fallen to the Disease called Magnumitis The symptoms of that include: 1. Need to shoot at long range. 2, Thinking that bigger is better. 3. Not learning the art of getting into close range. Now take my 30-30 , for example.. Compared to your 338 it is smaller and has less energy than the 338 but, it costs less to shoot, less muzzle blast , weighs less and less recoil. Now , faced with a charging Bear in Alaska , my 30-30 would not be the first caliber to choose, but it could certainly do good enough. especially since your 338 fell apart!
