Does anyone know if it can be grown in Minnesota? When I was a kid (1990) I was given a 1/4 of pound of seed and planted it in a few groves that I deer hunted, but it never came up. I know now that where I planted it was too damp and I'm pretty sure I planted it too deep. But I got the itch to try it again or would it be a waste of time and money?

Wild seng is dug in Minnesota. Not sure if it growes above Duluth or not. I used to hang out a lot up on the iron range quite a bit. I had a good friend that lived there and he and I checked several places for it and never found any. But I am still positive it growes in Minnesota. You need to hunt in the hardwoods in hill country. Probably would not hurt to have a good mixture of trees in the woods you hunt. minnesota has a very nice and very desireable typ Ginseng. It most generally brings about 20 to 30 bucks a lb. more than my typ seng. Keep on looking and you will eventually find some ,especially if you live in central and so. Minnestoa.

Thanks for the info. I will be out hunting for some as well as starting to plant a few beds of my own and see how it goes.
