O-man,

Can you get one hauled out on the bank and trap near it?

If the bears didn't get to it right away, it would probably attract fox all winter!

The concept is PC too: Recycling Shamu!

I like the recycle the whale concept, but in my experiance of buying fur on the coast...fur and whale oil dont mix.

Not sure if I will be able to find them sounds like they are in the tidal area right where the water gets really big. I will be going by there on my way to trap beaver this afternoon they are right on my winter line so I guess we will have to see

We get out of life only as much as we really want and work hard enough to achieve

Just for Info. The Almighty Alaskan Threads original intent was meant just for that. The everyday chatter that goes on that doesn't really belong in a thread of its own. Like the meal of the day. Chit chat of the day. It has served it purpose well. Personally I liked when we had less threads and more in-depth discussions about a specific topic that stays in one place. . As far as pointless threads. I see none pointless. If they stay in circulation more power to them. laugh

They have a pretty active Yupik department. They made all their own harpoons etc for the seal trip. They sew fur every year. I hope to get a tanning program going with them. The students will be doing some trapping this year. I hope to incorporate some tanning of the hides in Science class.

I have to agree pm's have been one of the most rewarding parts to this forum. I have loved communicating via pms. Some great info out there. And generous people as well.

Well Len I hope they do get them out trapping this winter we can always use more trappers around here and if there is anything we can do down here as far as gear and supplies let me know we have a pretty good inventory.. and of course we are always willing to buy there fur if they decide to sell any.
