Snow in the boat does suck. It makes everything so treacherous.

White, are you kidding? They can't cut any of that with the greenies down there! Remember, they have to use trap tags. smile

Yeah, that's where the cordless sawz-all comes in. Nice and quiet. And it just seems like such a "green" alternative to a chain saw!

Just doing what I want now.

Right Kusko I forgot that.

I like to discard the dead sawzall batteries into the ocean. Hopefully they leak.

Yep it's really looking serious here too. We already have about 20 inches. It will probably all melt during the Thanksgiving chinook.

You're right. She's putting a new front end in the 4wd Nissan. I just scooped the snow from around the truck so it's quicker for her to crawl underneath.

As a contractor, I really work my woodworking tools, and while DeWalt is pricey, they will take a beating.
I have noticed that overall battery life does seem short, and I have 8 batteries for the various cordless stuff, all 18 volt. Seems like I'm buying a new 2-pack every 3 months or so. However, these guys are pretty much used 5-6 days a week.
For occasional use, one might get by with a Ryobi or something.

I have no complaint about the tools its just the price and life of the batteries. Best price I can find delivered is $50 a pop. About the same as 4 wheeler batteries which are also grossly overpriced underperformers. Just thought someone may have a better valued source for either.

I'm afraid there's no easy answer to the cordless tool battery problem Bob. I've looked into rebuilding them and the cost of the 15 cells is higher than the cost of a new battery. The key is to try to squeeze as much life out of them as you can by charging them before they discharge 100% and then suck it up and buy the new ones when you need them. If you stay on the lookout sometimes you can get them on sale...but not often.

Man, we got more than knee deep snow already...I spent ALL weekend plowing and shoveling and there was another 6 inches this morning. My trapline will be out of reach for at least a week, and thats if we get some cold weather and NO MORE SNOW!!!

White, I think youre right, this is the earliest we've had this much snow in recent memory...

I hope to heck this isnt going to be one of those warm wet winters!!!

This snow is preventing us from freezing up good.

It's terrible here. The rivers look dark and wet from the air. No one is using them. It's going to take a bunch of overflow and then some really cold weather to make things safe.

We are supposed to get dumped on again on Wed. I like the snow, because some years, we don't get much, but when there is so much and it insulates, I'm afraid someone with go through the ice.
