OK, I have the advantage on all of you in this department. I can post a picture that I doubt anyone else can post. I can post a photo of my total, lifetime coon catch. Here it is (drum roll, stand back, prepare to be impressed): Yup, that's it. A total coon catch of one, uno. Don't ask me how or why, but I caught that little sucker at the top of a mountain in a cave at a cat toilet. There isn't a coon in a 100 miles of that place. I was so proud, I brought him home, skinned him with my buddy Corey Hain on the other end of the cell phone telling me how, and then I placed him on a stretcher. What a specimen!!!! Feast your eyes folks!!!

This mornings catch. Have a small line of 12 DPs out right now so having 7 full this morning was awesome for me ! Traps held ADCs coon bait with a marshmallow for eye appeal.

I did a post a year or so on washing the blood and mud out of raccoons.....didn't go over well. Most people said i was crazy...
The 'coon sure looked nice though ! LT I wash the blood and mud off from mine too. I don't know of any other way to get this clay mud out of their fur. If you try to brush it out after it dries the hair will pull out. It's easier to just wash them while they are still muddy and wet. I put them on my deck and wash them up and then take them to the fur shed and skin them out. I then hang the fur by the fan for a hour or so to dry. After the hair dries I roll them and in the freezer they go. I don't put up my fur. LT how does your washing process go?

Where do u get adc's coon bait You can look up ADC on here in the user list. He makes some very good bait. ADC's Trail Mix is what was pictured earlier. I have caught many coon using it already this season. I use it in my dps and use molasses as a lure. ADC's raccoon pay back is more of a paste bait. I believe it's a fish base with a sweet smell to it. I use this in pvc sets, pockets, poke and smear sets, cage traps, and dps as well. My knowledge of trapping is limited. The last time I trapped was over 20 years ago on my Dad's line. This is my first year back at it, but I don't think 52 coons trapped in 6 days is to bad. These were trapped useing ADC's (Jayme Johanas)bait.
