I could see somthing dragging in his tracks walking up must of been the bunnys feet smile

Wow that is cool. Jeff on the earlier post I wasn't commenting on cutting the legs off. I do that also. But leaving them out. After we had two get dinged in drumming I am afraid of leaving them out. It was an accident but I won't leave them out again. Only thing I can understand when you get a $12 lynx. I didn't have anything remotely that bad.
Sounds like the weather out west has been brutal. But making for hungry cats.

Yea I am not sure why you only got $12 for Lynx I know FH has a minnimum of $30 set on alaska Lynx (if I remember correct)
and dont think your problem was damage due to drumming ? could be but might of been somthing else.. bad rubs/snare damage/and or bad stained belly that is pretty low though.

And yes these cold temps seam to be making the cats hunt hard..pretty tough on the trapper though smile

My partner that year left the legs out and dried before I could undo. It was the only thing I could figure Jeff. I believe it was FH, One I think was in the teens and one for $12. They had to be ripped to shreds. We sent in no bad or rubbed lynx. Off color would be the worst. They were mid Feb cats. If I was organized I maybe could see something more on the grades. All I remember was being POed when I saw the prices then.

I would like to see the grade or lot number on that bunch.
I looked at all ours and the lowest we had out of 175 on that last may sale was 2 @$30 must of been Nafa Joe Mattie told me there is a $30 minn on our Lynx FH

I just checked our Nafa account and see we had two they were XL-LGE III-IV and they brought $17 must of been rough.

Nice Jeff. We finally got our camp in! We drove up by truck, with a snogo/sled in the back and broke trail into our line. It will be nice to be able to go up and have a warm tent waiting for us.

I may have been all wrong. Unless it was FH. I have to hunt it down.
But I did go back in to my nafa account and these may have been the two.
They were 2010 cats sold in Feb 2011 Held over from spring before.
I really thought I remember a cat that sold for less. Does FH have an account you can go into online?

Blowing 50, gusting to 65, snowing to beat the band. Just got
word the schools are shut down for the day. East end road is closed with six foot drifts. My brother and nephew both work
for the highway dept and both left home on snowmachines a
couple hours ago to go get a loader to try to open the road up.
Still dark out but can see a wall of snow blowing past the window. Guess I better go fire up the dozer, plow truck isn't going to cut it today.

Spek:
We had a real screamer last night but don't know how high the winds were for sure because my anenometers were trashed with the last screamer. Don't think we had the snow you did but its also to dark to tell here. Temp is +36 so we will probably get rain now then get really cold again. Seems to be part of a cycle this winter.

Same here Spek! There's a huge snowdrift in front that contains 4 snowmachines and sleds.

Our entire line is comepletly snowed in and will have to be mined out trap by trap and snare by snare. Keeping trails sets going is not an option at the moment! On the other hand big snow usually drives the wolverine down to lower elevatios around here with the ptarmigan.

This too, shall pass.
Yeah Jim, they say there's a cloud around every silver lining
(or something like that). smile Supposed to be some decent weather coming if the weather guru's are right. Hope you get into the the wolly's.

What weather befalls you guy's seems to do the same here within
a few hours, maybe not as strong as your winds but still similar.
My house is at about 1400 ft elevation so we're getting snow, may be raining in Homer. What snares I have out are at low
elevation, so no idea what shape they are in this morning.
Bob, did you ever get your mail?

The folks at weather underground say it is 32 degrees with light
snow mist in Homer. Sounds slushy.

They say buy tomorrow night we are suppose to be back at -25 to -30 sure is messing with my lines nothing has been moving at all!

Bob,,, How on the wind gauges,,we had 3 and now down to 1.

Last night 1 gust came through that hit the house like a bomb blast!

We started the season with a pack of 6 wolves and have picked up 4 of them, needless to say the 2 survivors are educated beyond belief. Here's 1 that hit the bait pile in front of the house,,30 Gibbs!!

It's a global market and they were on that side of the pond. Wouldn't make much sense to add a few thousand miles to the endeavor. Alaskan, you serious? Man you sure can't believe what the news reports can you...
