Lot of guys haveing trouble, so see if this helps.
Here the hide is pulled down to the ear buds.

By cutting staight in with a sharp knife you'll have clean ears.

With a tug you will be at the eyes. I pinch the hide and cut staight in carefully and the eye should expose itself.

At the same level as the eye you will find the corner of the mouth again cut straight in.

Tug again and with one last straight in cut at the cartilage of the nose your done.

I leave the lower lip on the carcass trimmed off at the canine teeth.

Thank you! I still get big-eyed coon. Do you start cutting on top of the eye, down in the corner, or in the middle?

Great tutorial, but no rubber gloves, sir?

Hiding our humane dispatches doesn't keep the Antis from showing their own gruesome ones. In this 1 sided story, who will the public believe, then?

As the coon hangs I start at the top (back of the eye)

when you start at the top push the side of the knife flat against the eye socket of the coon while pulling out on the hide. that is how i taught my wife to do it and she rarely gets big eyes.
