Its been a long time since we had the list of Facebook pages.

So if you feel inclined put your link up so everyone can take a look.

I just created a new one that I have been working hard to try to update regularly.

A little tip for those of you with Facebook pages. If you have more than 25 'likes' you can get a shorter web address for your Facebook page (the old address will still work too). Near the top of your Facebook page click the 'Edit Info' link. The fourth item down on that page should be 'Username' where you can request a shorter address. For example, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Burlington-Wildlife-and-Pest-Management/226351097449419 could become http://www.facebook.com/BurlingtonWildlife

It doesn't surprize me that Washington state needs a peacekeeper; after all, Vinke lives there.

So do only your friends see this or is it open to everyone? Does this generate business? WHy would anyone go to facebook to find a wildlife service?

Robb could give a better answer than me but basically:

Whoever likes your page will see it whenever you post. So that could be friends, family, customers, friends of friends, and pretty much limitless. The real value I guess would come from always seeing your updates and being fresh in their minds. While I really don't think you will get much new work directly from the people who like your facebook I do believe the referals from those people to others could add up.

For example: If at 9am I post a picture of squirrel damage of the house I am at and John Smith sees my status as he is sitting at his desk then a coworker mentions hearing noises in their ceiling it is fresh and that could easily be a referal.

I'd echo what nate said, plus if you are a small operator just starting up you can get a huge referral base through FB
locally, we are currently doing some local FB advertising and its already paying off plus our list of folks who know what
we do that live in our target market is growing daily for very few dollars.

Robb again can go into more depth on it and why you can rank on the first page with FB for your biz.

One word of caution, if you switch your username current roles state thats where it stays, in other words be sure you like
what you are going to tweak it to before you do so! Robb has good tips on that as well for getting your phone number
biz name and what you do in the title line.

Its also a good way to network with other local businesses you may want to work for commercial contracts etc... They usually
have pages too and you can like them or comment and spread your brand awareness that way!

Definitely think its worthwhile!

www.facebook.com/RDWildlifeManagement

We use our mostly to teach about wildlife and provide public education, through that though we attract the clients we personally want to work
for, we are not optimized to attract the whole world as thats not what i'm in this for, so if you look at ours you'll see its not as commercial as others
who are really marketing at their best.

I now have my facebook page linked to my iPhone so when I get in the vehicle to leave the customers house I can post a quick photo or a quick description of what went on.

I also liked everyones pages who posted the link.

It's all in my signature. And to answer why we need a FB page, I understand that a broad on-line presences is important. Supposed to help in getting the search engines to find you and its FREE so why not? Get listed on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Everyone with a FB page from here up has been "Liked".

I will be doing my once a year program where I will answer most any question any of you may have about Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and how and why you should be using them for your companies online marketing.

If its not working for you then you probably should listen and ask me questions this Sunday Night. Facebook works and its free.

While On Facebook

If you have a choice to share then always share if you want to help that person.

If they have a company page not only like their page on your wall but the money shot is to click the link on their company page and like it too. Most folks screw that
up.

looking forward to that Robb! i've got mine linked up different than most do I think, I like to keep my private page private for family and a few old friends but I see most folks use their private personal one for "liking" other folks pages. I usually "like" other folks pages like local businesses, agencies and others we work with, by using our company facebook page to like them versus my personal private page.

Is there a right and wrong way to have this setup? I personally don't want the world in on my private page as its "personal," but we also don't "like" everyone just because they "like" us. We want our company "likes" to show others we'd want our local fans to check out and patronize so we mostly "like" local.

Hows that for valley girl speak from the 80's! like like like like
