A woman in town says she has several cats that are living under her trailor. If I live trap them can I relocate them?

Our humane society takes them from me for free because they know they are not my cats. Its up to them what happens to them after that.

Bring them to the local humane society/animal shelter.

Some states consider feral cats to be domestic animals. You can actually be charged with animal cruelty for drowning or otherwise "mistreating" them.

Right, take them to the Humane Society and let them spend their money on them. Better yet, if you have a ASPCA in your area give the cats to them.

I did an interview with Dr Stephen Vantassel that touches many major legal points of feral cat trapping if your interested.

We usually ask the customers what they want done. Of course, most of those answers have words in them that I can't use on this site.

Dave, it could be illegal, plus possibly spreading feline aids or rabies.

I call local animal control and see if they want them, if not, I dispose of them.

One of the local "humane" societies wanted to charge me $45 per because I was charging to remove them. Customer could not/would not afford to add this amount to her bill(15 ferals taken).
Final solution.....SSS!

Most states give you a permit to be a WCO, Wildlife Control Operator. The permit gives you the opportunity to trap nuisance wildlife out of season.

The problem with cats is they are often classified as domestic animals, not wildlife.

They say skunks are wildlife, not domestic animals.

This is a major problem here , the county won't take them and I'm told it's not legal for me to transport them , We had some feral cats with rabbies last summer , SSS would be fine with me .these feral cats are eating rodents that I get payed to trap I'm sure of that .

I've removed five from my property in a week. That's a benefit of owning plenty of live traps. Luckily they don't charge for drop offs. Animal control said they euthanize all ferals before taking them out of the trap. Said they can't risk the liability of adopting out a wild cat.

Pesky, if you tell people that feral cats are doing for free what you get paid for, they'll get rid of you and make the cats government employees.

Had a customer earlier this week wanted a trap that only the owner could release the cats. I told him it would be expensive. He made a container with a padlock that held the trap.

It was a detterant for a 65 year old nieghbor that was going on private property and releasing them. He said the nieghbor would come right up in the garage and release them. Then put up signs in their yard pointing to the other neighbor labeling them "evil" for catching them.

He said their neighborhood is now without song birds and smells like cat urine.

Sounds like someone needs to send a night in jail. I'm tired if playing with fools and I will prosecute the next one that messes with me.

So David, at the risk of spending the night in jail, are you the one who has no songbirds and smells like cat urine?
