Let my missus assist with bee work.

Setting up a trap out this evening. I was twenty feet up a ladder and had just got my one way installed and a double stack nuc secured when she asked "how many times have you been stung so far". I no sooner got not once out of my mouth and got nailed three times and chased off the ladder.

Got it bad one time removing a bald face hornets nest , my buddy called said he had a customer with a nest in a pine tree , he said he would drop by and pick me up and I could keep all the cash so like a gommer I said yes, so I dressed all up in my turkey hunting gear and off we went, we got there not having my tools I had only his , the plan was to cut the branch and drop the nest that was bigger than a basket ball into a garbage bag , so up the ladder I go . When I reach out this exposed my wrist from my coat and gloves , I then took his snips to the branch and then they just broke in half and that's when I got hit the first four times , so down the ladder I go and then he hands me his battery powerd saws all , stupid is is what stupid does. The vibration of the saws all really got them upset and I must of got hit more than 20 more times , well about half threw the branch his battery goes dead I'm like OMG . And got it a least 30 more times , by now I was feeling the toxin running threw me like a train running full out , so I just reached out and broke the branch off with my hands getting even more and got the thing in the bag tied it off and ran . Stupid stupid stupid . My buddy then starts telling me I should of did abetter job because there were hornets flying every we're , I just said well if you had some real tools , I didn't feel right till the next day just kinda floated around like I was in the twilight zone or something

that's why i don't do bees

Well a smart man would simply spray the bald face hornets nest first and then return the next day to remove it

Has anyone noticed or is it just me? Pesky has shredded all my good lines. ( and most of yours too ) Time to head for another forum?

You got that right. Got my very first hornet sting last summer and I had to use a hammer to get that one. LOL

So warrior has classes we can all take , Georgia is a great beautiful state , got to love them mountains , got some great gold mining too , I was camped out on the side of this foot hill I guess it's call , I called it a mountain , here comes this goose walking by , yep mountain goose I guess , lots of rabbits to , you must just burn up a rabbit dog . I can see why there's so many bobcat running around . The deer seemed a little spooky

I'm doing a class in the morning on honeybee cutouts.

David, something interesting about stings. When I was a kid and a mosquito would sting me I would scratch and itch until it was bloody and then I'd scratch the scab off and usually spent the whole summer bleeding. Bee, wasp, and yellow jacket bites were worse. The bites would swell up like crazy and then I'd scratch the heck out of them too.

It's completely the opposite now. Mosquito bites don't even show up and I no longer swell up from the other bites. A couple years ago I was talking to a customer while this bumblebee is busy lacerating my arm. The customer pointed him out and I swatted him and removed the stinger. No after-effects.

My wife claims I've been brain dead for years and my body probably died too. She's just jealous because the stinging insects now fly right by me and land on her.

Paul, I'm like you. Mosquitoes bite me all the time, but I don't itch from them, but when I was a kid I got welts. My wife lives indoors. When she tries to spend some time with me outdoors, she gets two or three bites, they welt up and itch for several days. I figure the body builds up imunity to them after multiple exposures.




Also, I too have been Brain dead for years.

This what happeneds to my baby when a mosquitoe bites her , this took two trips to the doctor and aweek to heal and has happened twice now , reading this makes me wonder what will happen if she gets stung . Will I be driving 90 to the hospital , lundy does your wife have a major problem if stung by a bee or hornet?
