Jim builds some high quality stuff!

And Judy is as nice a person as you ever want to deal with on the phone!

If all of our customers were as pleasant as Kirk DeKalb, and Jim and Judy Comstock, this would be the greatest job on earth. ( It's pretty close right now )

What a great setup. Getting a few in the most common flue sizes would make easy work of it.

The trap is made to fit down the larger flue , then just run a trap stake threw it as to hold it in place , leave up some so you can check it . Ive only had to use it once and it did not fit(see video) but had no trouble securing it . Now I need to order a coyote trap ,the trap should be round with no corners , and look kinda like a bird feeder ,the wire should let birds in and out and rabbits in one spot . I'm thinking the trap should come apart so it fits inside each other when not in uses thanks Judy

Last year Travis Wolford caught the first coon in one of our cages in a chimney by hanging it vertically into the chimney with a rerod crosswise. He posted some pics on tman. I believe he was onsite when the coon was caught. I was warned of a possible problem that might occur if it was left overnight if the rerod was not secured. He said it was likely you would find the rerod out and the trap down the flue in the morning if the coon was left to work it unsecured, so I guess it would have to be wired into the trap to make sure.

One fellow pointed out that if the adapter was a lot smaller than the chimney a coon might refuse, so it might be best to have an adapter that it close to the flue size.

Put one on a 13 x 13" flue a coupla weeks ago (just the trap, no special adaptor). Mama coon had exited through the house in an, uh...unexpected outcome. She came back that night and tore the heck out of the bungees holding the trap in; also sprung the trap. Considering that the top end of the trap was ~28" above the top of the flue, it occurred to me that she didn't know that there was a way down thrugh the trap. Can anybody who's had experience with this situation advise?

Yeah, good thinking. I don't like lethal sets for coons - for several reasons - but that probably would have been much more successful in this case.
